2 Months Old

India will be 2 months old on Saturday but got her 2 month shots today. She did really great. The shots were given to her very quickly in both legs. She let out a big scream, then I picked her up to comfort her and she stopped crying. It makes me sad to think that now she knows what pain is. If I could shield her from it her entire life, I would. But I guess if you know no pain then how do you know what good feels like? She's so strong and such a trooper. Bless her.

Her stats are all good. She weighs in at 10lbs. 7oz. and 21in. long. Everything is measuring normal and the doctor says she is meeting all her milestones. She lifts her head and holds it really well and even leans back so that she is holding herself up off your shoulder. She's also using her legs to push up and holds herself up pretty good (while leaning against something). This week she has started to stay awake longer during the daytime hours and is smiling more. She's also starting to "Coo" and make more noises. It's not just a cry anymore, she is learning she can make different sounds. So awesome!!

I have some new pictures of her that I will probably post tomorrow. Stay tuned!

New Doctor

This morning I took India to a new pediatrician. I wasn't happy with her old one. Seemed a little careless and didn't explain things to me when I asked. So, I found a new pediatrician and I really like her. I didn't have to ask very many questions, she explained everything to me and I felt really comfortable with her.

Update on India:
She weighs 9.12 lbs. now and is growing fast. Today we found out she has an umbilical hernia. That means that part of her bowel is being pushed forward into her belly button by her stomach muscles. The doctor says that as of right now it's nothing to worry about and should go away on it's own. I just have to keep an eye on it. She said it's pretty common. Once her stomach muscles start to develop and split into the two sides (like a six pack) then it should release. If it hasn't corrected itself within a year we might need to look into surgery.

Other than that, she has to get her shots next week (yuck). I'm not looking forward to that visit, but Danny is going to go with me too for support. Wish us luck!!

Back to Work

Today is my first day back to work and so far I'm very sad. I tried not to cry too much on my way in. Good news is that my mom is watching India for me so at least I have someone I can really trust. I couldn't ask for a better person to leave her with. Now I just have to get over the "leaving her" part.

6 weeks

It's been six weeks and I can't believe it! India Rae is doing wonderful. She still has a little bit of a cold but I'm beginning to wonder if it's really allergies. I have my six weeks doctor's appointment this Thursday and afterwards we are going to make our first visit to my work so India can meet my coworkers. She is growing so much and so quickly. Definitely doesn't look like a preemie anymore! Here are some new pictures of our chubby cheeked princess!!

A Month Old Already!

Wow, the time is flying by. India is a month old now and is doing great!! She's eating alot and growing. She's wearing newborn diapers and they actually seem like they are getting a little tight. Other than that, she's got a little cold but no fever or anything :)

And Danny & I... Our 1 year wedding anniversary was yesterday. Danny had the day off and we relaxed all day and cooked some steaks on the grill. They were yummy! We also ate our wedding cake (which was better than I expected from a year old cake, LOL). Most of all we spent the day with India. We are loving every minute with her. It's so amazing and really hard to put into words the way we feel. She is so awesome.

Here are some new pictures of our sweet baby girl.

P.S. If she would have gone full term she would have been born this week...

India Rae Born August 18th!

Sorry for the delay. India was born on August 18th at 9:23 am (also my birthday). She weighed 5lbs. 11oz. and was 19 1/4 inches long. She was born at 34 weeks which is pretty early so we had to spend some time in NICU. Overall she did very well, no lung issues or eating issues. She is so healthy and wonderful. We got to bring her home last Wednesday for the first time and it's been great ever since. There is no way to describe the feelings I've had since she was born. It's the best thing in the world and she is just awesome. I will try to keep you all updated with pictures! Here are some of her first pics from this past Sunday.

Dropped?

I'm starting to get anxious and nervous!! My mom and a couple of co-workers have told me that I look like I've dropped. That freaked me out at first, but then I read in my "What to Expect When You're Expecting" book that this is around the time when that happens. The baby gets into position and is pretty much cradled in the pelvis. If I could skip the labor and delivery part of this and just have my baby without all that, I think I'd be great. Going through labor and delivery scares me. I'm getting anxious just typing about it!! Oh well...I guess I'll get over it. LOL.

In the meantime I'm trying to get the house organized and the nursery put together. We've got the crib put together, now we have to put the organizer and bassinet together. We're almost there. Once that's done I can put all her stuff away.  :D

Hurray for Paint and Carpet!!

Our house is looking so good! Danny, Shane and Mom got the nursery painted earlier this week and it looks fabulous!!! It came out perfect and exactly what I was wanting. And yesterday the carpet was installed. We had new carpet put in the nursery, the office, and the kitchen (indoor-outdoor carpet). It changes the whole feel of the house and it's wonderful. So much more comfortable. We're almost ready for baby India to be here. This weekend we're going to set-up the crib and other furniture in the nursery so we can start putting all her stuff away. That means I can start washing all her clothes and putting them away too!! I'm so excited! I will post pictures after we get it completely set-up.

32weeks and 5days Pictures!

I've been feeling as BIG as a house lately, so last night I had Danny take some new pictures of me and my belly. I think my stomach has pretty much doubled in size since my 28week pics.  She's growin'!!

And here are my swollen feet! They are like pillow except not comfortable. LOL.

32 Week Appointment

I gained 5lbs. in two week! YIKES! Well, it's not so bad I guess. My doctor says I'm still below the average weight-gain for this stage of pregnancy, so I can't complain too bad. I think I've gained a total of 22lbs. throughout the pregnancy so far. I have lots of growing to do these last 8 weeks.

My baby bump is measuring at 33cm. which is normal and India's heart rate is still at 140 and strong. My doctor says she is probably around 4lbs. right now. I can definitely feel that 4lbs. rolling around in my tummy. She has been very active and even more the past couple of days because I have a sinus infection. Every time I sneeze or cough she responds with a squirm or kick. I guess I can't blame her. I'm probably keeping her from napping! LOL.

Funny notes:
You remember those sneaky stretchies I was talking about a couple weeks ago? Well, they invited their buddies to come hang out on my upper thigh/hip area. I spotted them this morning while I was getting ready for work.

At the baby shower Eddie (my older brother) wanted to guess the diameter of my belly. So He guess 42 inches, Terra (my sister) guessed 38 inches, and Jessi (my friend) guessed 39 inches (i think). Anyway. I measured. It's 41 1/2!!!
