3rd Trimester!!

We started our third trimester today. The end is near...or the beginning, however you want to look at it. I'm getting nervous, anxious, and a little scared. My hormones have kicked it up a notch and I've been somewhat on the emotional side again, so I'm sure that's not helping. All in all I'm doing well and can't complain too much. It's all worth it and soon we'll have a little princess in our lives.

Braxton Hicks Contraction

I've had a couple of Braxton Hicks contractions over the last month, but this past Saturday was crazy. I had them pretty much all day long. My stomach would harden and stay like that for about a minute and then release. Then would do it again...off and on all day long. I've gotten them every day since, but they have gotten less frequent.  There's no pain or anything else that comes with the contractions, so I'm not too worried about it. It's just my body practicing (hopefully). India is still very active throughout the day and actually getting more active at night too. She's my little kung fu princess. I'll keep you updated on my situation. I go back to the doctor on July 2.

BTW, invitations to the baby shower should be going out this week!! The baby shower is for all of our close family and friends (not just the girls). It will be at my mom's house on Sunday, July 27th. My sister and my nieces and nephew are flying in from SC and we're going to have so much fun!! Can't wait!!

Test Results

My doctor called me this morning and says everything is normal. My blood count is good and I don't have gestational diabetes. Whoo hoo!

Here are the pictures from the ultrasound yesterday. We didn't get any really good ones this time because India had her back turned the whole time. We mostly just saw the back of her head. But, like I said yesterday, she was very active and moving around quite a bit. I also had the u/s tech confirm that she is indeed a baby girl. I've heard too many stories about them being wrong about the gender. But it's confirmed... definitely a girl!!

26 Week Appointment

We had our 26 week appointment today and everything went well. The main goal of this appt. was to give me a gestational diabetes test and to get measurements of India's heart since they were unable to get that at our last u/s.

For the gestational diabetes test I had to drink a very sugary cocktail and wait an hour for them to draw some blood. The drink wasn't too bad, gave me some indigestion but pretty much just tasted like fruit punch with extra sugar. While I was waiting the hour for the blood work they went ahead and did the ultrasound. India was extremely active but allowed them to get all the measurements they needed. The only problem we had this time is that she had her back turned to us the entire time. We didn't get to see her face at all, just the back of her head. A little disappointing, but it's ok. She is so awesome though. She already knows KUNG-FU!

Her heart beat was strong and at 140bpm. She is still measuring big, this time in the 61st percentile. The doctor says she will probably be an 8lb. baby, currently weighing 2lbs. I gained about 6 pound since my last appointment, which the doc said is good, but I don't want to do that again. I am still a little behind on my weight gain, but not by much anymore. I will go to the doctor every two weeks from now on.

They gave us some information on the hospital and the different prenatal classes that they offer, so that is next on our list of things to do!!

Busy Busy Busy

We started working on the house and thanks to my mom and Shane, we're making some good progress. They have already helped us so much and we're really grateful.

We're moving the office (that is currently in the second bedroom) to a different area of the house so we can make that room the baby's room. We might actually have everything moved out this week!! Then, Danny's parents are going to bring a painter in to paint the baby's room. It's going to be so cute! I'm getting really excited and anxious. Here is a picture of the nursery decor we picked out. We aren't going to do the pink walls, but the bedding and decorations are really cute.

My sister is planning a baby shower for me. Her and all her children will be coming July 16th-July 29th. The baby shower will be July 27th. I can't wait!! I miss my nieces and nephew!

Once we get the nursery painted and done I will post some pictures. Not sure how soon we're going to buy the crib, but hopefully soon.  :)

We have another ultrasound tomorrow AM, so I will probably have some new pictures to post, so check back tomorrow afternoon.

Playing games...

Last night while I was waiting for Danny to come home I was sitting on the couch watching my stomach because India was being very active. So, once she calmed down a little, I decided to try and interact with her. I ran my finger down my stomach with a little bit of pressure and then would wait a few seconds. Then I did it again and India responded with a couple of kicks in the same spot. I went back and forth with her for about a half hour, each time she would kick in the same spot that I was pressing with my finger. Really cool. Then, when Danny got home, I did it for him and at first she didn't respond but after a couple of tries she did and it was so neat to see her pressing on my stomach and the coolest feeling in the world.  :)

23 weeks and 2 days!

I took some new pictures on Saturday when I was 23 weeks and 2 days. My stomach has gotten huge and I'm sure it will only get bigger from here on out. I can't see my toes anymore!!

Here is a picture of our precious puppy dog too. He's getting so big! He's 1 year and 1 month old.

Mother's Day Present

Here is the picture that I promised of the beautiful necklace Danny got for me for Mother's Day. He's so thoughtful. It's diamonds and sapphires (the birth stone for September, when the baby is due).
